Knickers to poverty!

We help women and girls in Uganda and across East Africa manage their periods with dignity, and we equip them to make their own.

Period poverty keeps women stuck

In many rural communities in East Africa, women and girls can’t get or afford underwear or period products. Without them, girls miss school every month, women miss work, and many make do with rags, leaves or nothing at all.

That’s period poverty, and we think it’s time to say knickers to it.

What we do

Simple, practical gifts that restore dignity and keep girls in school.

Period care that lasts

We give out reusable menstrual pads and period pants that last for years, not days.

Knickers and bras for all

We collect new knickers and new and gently used bras in the UK, and hand them out in rural communities.

Sewing for sustainability

We share simple sewing templates so women can make knickers and pads for their families, and to sell.

Teach a woman to sew…

Our dream is to help African women help themselves. Handing out underwear meets today’s need. Teaching women to make their own meets tomorrow’s, and builds skills, income and independence too.

Say knickers to poverty with us

Donate underwear, sew a pair, or give a gift that keeps on giving.
